Profile
I am an empathetic health care professional that provides a holistic approach to treatment. I have experience from the NHS and the private sector, developing my understanding on a vast variety of injuries and conditions. I have gained experience working in Stroke Wards, Orthopaedic Wards, Critical Care Units, as a Community Physiotherapist, and in Musculoskeletal Outpatients.
Outside of treatment, I keep active with running, weights and sport. This has focussed my preferences and understanding on the biomechanics of the human body, and recovering from many different injuries. I keep up to date with current evidence and research, allowing me to provide up to date and effective evidence-based rehabilitation. I strive to provide compassionate, empathetic and tailored rehabilitation, allowing my clients to feel safe and well-looked after along their rehab journey.

Areas of Special Interest
From my large range of experience and exposure, I have picked up many areas of interest. One of which is low back pain. At university I wrote my thesis on the effects of exercise and education against exercise alone for back pain, and continued to learn about and treat back pain in my professional career. Alongside low back pain, I am fascinated by sports related injuries, and the return to sporting activities, as well as the rehabilitation following orthopaedic surgery.
I am fascinated by research, with the intent to write papers throughout my career. By reviewing papers I have built up a greater understanding of exercises and their effects on rehabilitation, as well as the importance of the psychological factors of recovery.
I am interested in the biomechanics of the body, as well as the importance of different loading and frequency for exercises, and these need to be appropriately tailored for optimum benefits.

Personal Approach
I provide a patient-centred holistic approach, understanding the interests of my clients, their daily activities and goals to appropriately tailor treatment and rehabilitation to meet their needs. I focus on restoring mobility and flexibility, to be able to effectively build stability and strength to prevent recurrence of injury. I provide a safe environment and strive to form strong relations with my clients to support them on a personal level and work through the rehabilitation journey. I provide compassion and ensure to listen to my clients, making sure they are heard and all factors are taken into account to allow them to return to what they love doing.
Interests & Hobbies
Outside of physiotherapy and the world of healthcare, I have strong interests in sports and physical health. I enjoy long walks, taking part in running, and being outside and with the community. I host weekly wellness walks to bring groups together, and get people of all ages and abilities out and moving.
I love rugby, having played with clubs and county level and picked up my fair share of injuries, which caught my interest for rehabilitation.
What I like most about day to day life is listening to music, particularly the 70s, 80s and 90s, meeting with friends and exploring new and amazing places, especially all that is to be seen across the country, with museums, exhibitions and more, so easily accessible.
